This is the second time ive been sent an email error, email.....the thing is i havent sent any emails to the name given, the 1st time it was a different one?

They have attatchments but im too scared to open them.

I get them all the time :realmad: . I get loads of simular e.mails that are junk...but have got used to it now so just trash it. I even get mail with my whole name on it , now i know i dont use my whole name on any site or email so i just bin the email without opening it.

easy to fix, change your email address to something random

 

then get a yahoo address or similar and if u go on any websites that request an email address use the yahoo one, if u get shitloads of spam u can trash it and get a new one.

 

with my isp i get 5 email addresses, the primary one i never use

 

i created 2 other email addresses and use them, i to date have never got any spam from them and ive had them for years now.

 

if i get spam, i will just create a new mailbox

 

i also tell ppl to send me emails with me in the BCC list, so my email does not get sent around the globe

i always delete anything that doesnt ring true there are too many viruses about these days to risk it

Can you tell me what the bcc list is and how to use it....cos i end up having to do seperate emails for each person to prevent sending on someone elses addy.

 

Is someone sending out emails from my addy....confused??

Moll, if you haven't already got Spybot and AdAware on your computer put them on. The important thing is to keep them updated and run them often. Worth trying in case you have have anything lurking on your pc that is sending out info.

 

You could try contacting cobbcollaborative.org, which is based in Cobb County, USA, and ask to be removed from their list.

Or you could just "block sender".

 

Also, most anti virus software and ISP's will scan incoming/out going mail for virus'.

But as already stated in Timid Toads reply, if in doubt, DELETE.

 

P.S. trendmicro anti virus is good, although I'm sure everyone has there favourite.

Thank you for the help BT, ill block the sender...never thought of that

I do have spyware, the PC has just recently be re-formatted and he put new stuff on.

I just dont know how this has suddenly started after years of never having any of it?
